After researching different Content Management Sites for my design and photography work, I came across one that seemed to be leaps ahead of its competitors.  Enter: Cargo Collective http://cargocollective.com/

They’ve clearly paid attention to typography and layout, and with different customizable themes, it was the perfect fit.

Here’s a look at my portfolio:

SUCCESS!  We finally had our tea party yesterday (after being rained out last weekend) and it was INCREDIBLE!  Wonderful wonderland!

It’s great having a group of friends who are up for anything crazy that gets thrown at them.  Here are a few highlights!

The highly anticipated Mad Tea Party is ALMOST HERE!  I know it’s still over a week away, and I know it’s been raining all week, but I want to go decorate and set up for the party right this second.

Here’s a look at the full invitation system.

We’ve sent out 3 pieces of mail leading up to the event (which will be held on Sunday, June 6).  First we had the “You are cordially invited” set that went out.  No specific event details were given at that point.

A few weeks later, the 11″x 17″ “Calling Card” was mailed to each guest in a mailing tube (return address from Wonderland, of course).  On the bottom of the poster was the riddle, “Why is the Raven like a Writing Desk?” and each person was given a specific time for when they’d be phoned and asked for their answer to the riddle.  When the answer was given, the guest was told more event details.

A week later, “Drink Me” glass bottles were hand delivered to each guests’ front door, and the specific event details were rolled up and placed inside the bottles.

There will be more photos from the actual Tea Party in the next few weeks..there will be LOTS to photograph.  Can’t wait!

I was going through my portfolio case (that I hadn’t touched since I graduated) and found a pen drawing I did in school of the Eiffel Tower.  I thought I’d scan it in and get it printed.  My 20″ x 28″ print just came in the mail yesterday..and it fits nicely in Ikea’s Ribba frames.  This will be on sale soon…I’m not fully happy with the paper quality, so once I get that all sorted out, and I make an online shop, we’ll be set.

Working on a little series of 11″ x 17″ posters!

I remember when I was little, how fascinating it was to make objects out of paper.  Here are my little “origami” lessons for little kids.  Perfect for playrooms!

This 64-page wire-o bound book documented the first of my two month-long stays in India in 2008.

The calendar created for each image documents the Village, District, and Province in which the photograph was taken, along with the precise time (hour, minutes and seconds).

The day-of-the-week, date, and month relevant to each photograph are removed from each calendar, depicting the “stolen” moments in time.

Creating invitations for an upcoming Mad Tea Party.  Looking forward to it…will have lots of goodies in store.  Date is still unknown, but hopefully the weather starts to warm up quickly for us!  Will be taking lots of photos..stay tuned!

These invitations were printed on bright white card stock, and I used Adobe Caslon Pro Italic as my typeface of choice.  The cards were strung together with Pink ribbon to match the pink swatch used for the invitations and mailed in gold envelopes.

Looking out of the window at sunny skies and Cherry Blossoms in full bloom..

Preparing some exciting stuff for a design collaboration.  Was kind of lacking motivation and inspiration over the past few months, so I decided to change that and find cool projects rather than waiting for them to find me.

This is unrelated to the collabo, but I’m currently working on a promo piece for Page 84 Design…I’ve named this little guy LaFontaine.  :)

And here’s a little lady who is fishing..

I created a tri-fold brochure for Alex Sangha, who will be running for School Trustee in the Delta region.
